JPRC partners with state departments of education, school districts, educational service agencies, and other education organizations to strengthen school safety and student well-being. Through the U.S. Department of Justice’s STOP School Violence Program and other strategic partnerships, we provide technical assistance, implementation support, professional learning, and resource development to help education leaders build sustainable behavioral threat assessment, emergency management, and school safety systems.

Current STOP School Violence Program Partnerships

JPRC is currently partnering with the following education agencies through the U.S. Department of Justice’s STOP School Violence Program:

  • California: Poway Unified School District
  • Michigan: Lenawee County Office of Emergency Management
  • Ohio: Education Service Center of Northeast Ohio
  • Oregon: Oregon Department of Education
  • Texas: Harris County Department of Education

Working alongside these partners, JPRC provides comprehensive technical assistance to support the implementation and sustainability of behavioral threat assessment (BTA) programs. Our work includes BTA and suicide awareness training, development of implementation resources and tools, technology-enabled supports, implementation evaluation and continuous quality improvement, and ongoing coaching to help agencies strengthen multidisciplinary teams and build effective, sustainable school safety systems.

Previous STOP School Violence Program Partnerships

JPRC has successfully partnered with the following education agencies through previous STOP School Violence Program awards:

  • Maine: Maine School Safety Center
  • Nevada: Nevada Department of Education
  • New York: Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) of Ulster County
  • Pennsylvania: Chester County Intermediate Unit
  • Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania School Safety Center
  • South Carolina: Pickens County School District
  • Virginia: Loudoun County Public Schools

Through these completed partnerships, JPRC helped education agencies establish and strengthen BTA programs by delivering professional learning, developing practical implementation resources, supporting implementation evaluation and continuous quality improvement, and building sustainable systems that continue to promote safe, supportive, and inclusive school environments.

Additional School Safety Partnerships

Beyond the STOP School Violence Program, JPRC partners with education agencies to strengthen broader school safety and emergency management efforts.

Current partnership:

  • Maryland: Maryland State Department of Education

In Maryland, JPRC provides technical assistance and resource development to support statewide implementation of the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and related emergency management initiatives. This work includes developing implementation resources, providing guidance and technical assistance, and helping schools and districts strengthen emergency preparedness and response planning through sustainable, evidence-informed practices.

Whether your organization is launching a new school safety initiative or strengthening existing practices, JPRC can provide technical assistance, implementation support, training, and resource development tailored to your needs.
