Dr. Jennifer Loeffler-Cobia, Director of Justice and Public Health Policy and Practice at WestEd, authored an op-ed published in The Baltimore Sun calling for a coordinated, systems-level response to the nation’s ongoing opioid epidemic.

In “United Communities Can Turn the Tide on the Opioid Epidemic,” Dr. Loeffler-Cobia highlights the impact of sustained investment across housing, health, and justice systems that can drive more effective, community-centered solutions to opioid misuse.

Dr. Jennifer Loeffler-Cobia is the Justice and Public Health Policy and Practice Director at WestEd and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern California. Dr. Loeffler-Cobia leads research and evaluation studies for WestEd’s Justice and Prevention Research Center. She is currently the Director of the Reimagining Community Safety project and subject matter expert for the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP), funded by the U.S. Department of Justice.
