WestEd contributed to a paper published in Policing: An International Journal, “Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Youth Perceptions of Police in the Community and School: Considering the Effects of Multilevel Factors.” The paper won a 2021 Emerald Literati Award for Excellence as an Outstanding Paper published by the journal. According to Emerald, the journal publisher extends a rigorous review process that gives “authors confidence in knowing that their paper was one of the most impressive pieces of work from the previous year.” The article is based on an earlier report led by JPRC researcher Jonathan Nakamoto.
